Change your life: Treasure the present

3 February, 2014

Imagine a bank which credits your account each morning with £86,400.

It does not carry a balance over from day to day, nor does it allow you to keep any cash balance and every evening cancels whatever part of the amount you have failed to use during the day. What would you do? Draw out every penny, of course!

Well, everybody has such a bank – its name is TIME.

Every morning it credits you with 86,400 seconds. Every night it writes off as lost whatever of this you have failed to invest to good purpose.

In order to be utterly happy, the only thing necessary is to refrain from comparing this moment with other moments in the past, which I often did not fully enjoy because I was comparing them with other moments of the future” — André Gide

To realise the value of ONE YEAR ask a student who has failed a grade.

To realise the value of ONE MONTH ask a mother who has given birth to a premature baby.

To realise the value of ONE DAY ask an editor of a weekly newspaper.

To realise the value of ONE MINUTE ask a person who has just missed a train.

To realise the value of ONE SECOND ask a person who has avoided an accident.

To realise the value of ONE MILLISECOND ask the person who has won a silver medal in the Olympics.

Treasure every moment you have.

Yesterday is history.  Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift. That is why it is called the PRESENT” – Author unknown

Have a great week – 604,800 seconds and counting … !
